Week 3 post 3

This week was inherently interesting because it got into the conflict of libertarianism in the united states and the psychology of it all. My reaction to this learning is of intrigue but not surprise. To find psychological evidence proving the lack of collective empathy amongst both libertarians and conservatives is fascinating but not surprising. I also found it fascinating how each political party aligned with either the male/female traditional cognitive styles. Overall a very insightful week that had me ruminating on how my own moral disposition has impacted my political opinions.

My questions for this week are; Can income change someones moral disposition? Why are people obsessed with money and property as a source of happiness?... like WHO decided that was the end all be all answer for happiness because as of now I don't see that monetary success ever feeling full-filling to me but at the same time I am very privileged to never have experienced true financial restrain so what do I know?

  1. Make sure the United States is capitalized. When and why do you think these gender cognitive styles developed in each party?

    1. I think the cognitive styles have always been present however as women have become more directly involved in politics I believe it has raised the objection to the traditional male cognitive style and highlighted the short-comings of that specific cognitive style.
