Week 9 post 3

This week was AMAZING because I was struggling with where to direct my independent studying and I wasn't sure how I wanted to approach the philosophical topics I enjoy. However, As I was looking through greater good science center articles, I stumbled upon one about star wars and philosophy and it really has guided me to want to use star wars as a lens to describe and approach philosophy.

My questions for this week are: What do every day people have to learn from star wars, and could this mode of movies as storytelling be more effectively harnessed to promote moral discernment? Was George Lucas truly a socialist or not? Is there a neurological depth to viewing movies like star wars which I don't quite understand yet?

  1. What more do you know about George Lucas and what led him to create the Star Wars saga?
