Week 12 post 3
This week gave me a good refresher over the concept of cognitive dissonance and reminded me how to have better political conversations with people. As I start to think about my presentation I think it is important for me to be aware of my own cognitive dissonance as well as those who I will be presenting to so that I will be capable of having the most productive conversation possible.
The few questions I have for this week are: Can we convince people who don't want to change, to change? What kind of language should I avoid in my presentation about politics?
Why do you think people are afraid of change?
ReplyDeleteIt is natural to be in fear of change when you cannot understand it so I believe the USA's chronic divestment in education is one of the prime reasons people are afraid of change.
