Week 14 post 2
The mindfulness initiative in the UK has the goal of implementing the use of mindfulness techniques in politics. National politicians took part in the mindfulness training courses which derived from eight week clinical health interventions. These legislators reported personal benefits such as attention regulation, impulse control, empathy, and meta-cognition (critical thinking). A multifaceted group of these politicians propose that mindfulness based interventions could help address a wide range of issues. The prevailing policy narrative of those who partook in the mindfulness practices showed greater interest in wellbeing, technology, as well as care and compassion. This has increased approval rates and happiness levels.
Comparative to mindfulness techniques in star wars, when implemented in politics, on a centrifugal and centripetal level, mindfulness is connected to rationality and success. By developing a deeper sense of self, a growing number of politicians are finding a new way to approach political discourse, while displaying enthusiasm for policy that tackles society's problems and a level that considers the human heart and mind. In the most basic sense, mindfulness has helped these delegates work together more functionally by allowing people to work with people the might not otherwise agree with.
